Monterrey kept its place atop the Sportify Power Rankings, but not without a fight. Queretaro came back from a two goal deficit at the half with goals from Yerson Candelo (58’) and Ángel Sepúlveda (63’) only to be outdone in the 85th minute by Neri Cardozo.  The return of Emanuel Villa and Camilo Sanvezzo from injury has sparked motivation in the Gallos Blancos.  A strong performance against America last week and a valiant effort against the league-leaders see Queretaro gaining momentum and one spot in the rankings.

The Chivas are now unbeaten in the last five and rise two positions in the rankings after drawing against Pachuca at the Estadio Hidalgo.  But, the big winner in Week 15 was Santos Laguna. Los Guerreros climbed three spots with their 2-1 win over defending champions Tigres, the biggest upward move in this week’s rankings. The Tigres have only three wins in their last ten league games and sit outside of Liguilla qualification.

América was the biggest loser of the week, dropping three positions in the rankings following its second consecutive loss to a lower ranked team. Erbin Trejo’s goal on behalf of Toluca sealed the win over the Águilas and secured Toluca’s first win as visitor since November 7. The three points keep Liguilla hopes alive for the Diablos Rojos. The Tigres’ loss to Santos Laguna and the Veracruz victory over Cruz Azul helped América clinch a berth in the Liguilla despite its poor performance at the Azteca.
